Weekly, 45-minute classes include songs, rhythmic rhymes, movement, and instrument play. These activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences, developmentally appropriate for children and easy for parents and caregivers - regardless of their own musical ability.
Each family receives two professionally recorded CDs, a Songbook and Parent Handbook.

MIXED AGE CLASSES allow you to bring siblings to the same class, offer older children an opportunity for leadership, and let younger children learn from the rich 'family style' environment.
Children are not expected to sit still, but rather to respond in their own way to the music and activities during class. The role of the parent or caregiver is seen as essential to the child's enjoyment of the class, so plenty of guidance is offered by the teacher.

Big Kids Family Music^® is a 60 minute class for children 5 and 6 years old who are ready for more challenge and structure. While participation is encouraged, and opportunity is given for each child to contribute, there is no pressure to perform. BIG KIDS FAMILY MUSIC uses the same song book as mixed age classes, but the CD includes more tonal and rhythm patterns.
Parents continue to play an important role in class. Free childcare is available for younger siblings. Infants under 8 months old may remain in class with their parent or caregiver.
PLEASE NOTE the start date for this class has been deferred to Wednesday September 24th.

This Winter we will be singing from the 'Bells' collection which includes traditional favorites like 'De Colores', 'Deedle Dumpling' and Brahms' Lullaby with songs special to Music Together^® like 'Trot Old Joe' and 'Me, You, We'.
Below is the schedule for Winter 2009. General Registration opens November 10th. Families currently enrolled in our Fall classes may register now.
The 10-week Winter semester will run from January 12th to March 21st.

Please note our classes that run through the City of Concord require that you register directly with city recreation services at www.Concordreg.org. Concord Recreation Services charges a small additional fee if you are not resident in Concord.
Similarly, registration for our Tuesday classes in Hercules should be made by calling 510 799 8291 or going in person to the Swim Center, 2001 Refugio Valley Rd, Hercules 94547.
