Our classes provide playful, engaging ways for you and your child to interact through music. You'll hear your child sing to herself (some times long after class is over!) and see her bounce, rock or jump to the beat. You'll watch your baby experience the vibrations he feels on the big drum, or see his excited reaction to his favorite song. A wide selection of instruments is presented in every class for adults and children to explore.
Most instruments are not tonal: when you play along with a drum or tambourine there are no wrong notes!
Children are biologically "wired" to respond most to those with whom they have close bonds. Music Together
® classes help you build that bond. As a Music Together parent, you may discover your own musicality for the first time as you participate with your child. Or maybe you'll rediscover the musical world you enjoyed as a child or teenager but may have left behind in the hustle and bustle of adult life. Whatever you find, we know you’ll cherish this special time each week having musical fun with your child.
We understand that encouraging a child’s growth is important to all parents and caregivers. Research has shown that music education benefits all areas of learning from language and math skills, to small and large motor abilities and even social and emotional development. Free of performance pressure, our classes encourage children to respond spontaneously to their musical environment, share their ideas and show you what they can do!
Our program follows the recommendations of child development researchers – grouping together children of a variety of ages in order to foster natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because their children can go to class together. Each child participates in class activities at his or her own level.
Music Together® teachers across the country share a common passion and enthusiasm for introducing music to young children and their families. Music Together of Concord director, Julia McLeod leads a stellar team of
instructorswith rich backgrounds in music education and a wide array of musical skills they bring to class each week. You’ll be amazed at the warm, joyful way they engage your child in class activities.
It’s important that we make our program accessible to as many families as possible. That’s why we’re proud to offer classes six days a week, Monday through Saturday. So whether you’re a stay-at-home caregiver looking to fit in a weekday activity or a working parent eager to share the weekend with your child, our Music Together program can work for you!
From Clayton to Concord to Hercules, Music Together of Concord currently offers classes at five convenient, kid-friendly locations, including Studio Grow Concord, Diablo Rock Gym and Willow Pass Community Center. Check out our

There are nine research-based Music Together song collections, each named for a different instrument. Each semester brings a new song collection, so families stay with our program, coming back each time to enjoy new music. You’ll receive two CDs and a Songbook of the semester’s collection to enjoy at home and in the car, plus the handbook & DVD 'Music and Your Child' for families new to Music Together®. Each week in class we sing, dance and play along to the music we're hearing at home.
